So I did this for HBO and it's awesome to see my model on every HBO promoted fight. Here my model on the latest Mayweather and Mosley fight. Every time I see it I call it the "Enrique Fight Report."

New Site

It's been awhile since posting something new here. Lot's has happen and still moving forward. Most the stuff I do now is work related so I can't really post it but I'll keep trying to do some personal stuff to show to you guys. I'm spending the little time to redo my website right now so I'm teaching myself the freakin Dreamweaver and HTML. I know some of you guys will tell me " Hey Hotsalsa! why don't you do you site in FLASH?! Your site will look sssssssoooooooooo much better!" Well, for some reason the FLASH class I took in Ai about 4 or 5 years ago didn't stick in my brain as it kinda did with Jason Katsoff's Dreamweaver course, so I'm just taking the easier road for now. It's still a work in progress but the front page is there and my old reel is there. All the other stuff will be updated alittle at a time. Peace

Un-Finished short........ and probably never finish

This is the CG short that will probably never see the light of day.... unfortunately. I decided to just gather some pieces of the short and just show what the film could have been if it never fell apart. Shit happens like this in the entertainment world so it comes in the territory. Some of these shots are not finished and some are. I was proud of this short cause it was done by Ai students and this would probably be the best piece that came out of this school. So enjoy.

So one of my older posts in the bottom has a rough drawing of what looks like Frankenstein on crack. I decided to finish it and make him be more on weed instead. Why??????? I don't know.

So I had to make the choice to either have normal sleep hours and get no personal work done, or lose days of sleep and get the satisfaction of doing more art pieces that I enjoy doing and learning to improve.
I got a ulcer out of it but I think it was worth it.

I got this face from the Advanced Photoshop magazine recently. I decided to do my own version of him.

Starting a Caricature "Progress 1"

After going through photos, I start roughing the characters out. I took a different approach than usual by drawing small thumbnail size caricatures, rather then filling up an entire 11 by17 paper. These roughs only took a few minutes each just so that I can get the idea out of my head as quickly as possible.

progress 2 "Setting Composition"

Here, I take the drawings to Photoshop, cut em, and move then around to see what best fits into frame. I think this works.

progress 3 "base colors"

Here, I'm color picking the skin tones of each character from an actual picture and roughly trying to match each tone value. I'm coloring under the lines.

progress 4 " paint over"

Here, I'm starting to paint over the sketch lines, so it can be a little cleaner. I don't like to erase the sketch marks because it's better showing some imperfections. Just my opinion.

Adding detail on the faces and starting the clothes.

While adding background, I'm still working on some tweaks for the characters.

T-Shirt Design

Shawn had an idea in putting one off my drawn comic strips on a T-Shirt to promote the cartoon "Thug-a-Boo." He wore it on Nick's Kids Choice Awards. My brother," Oscar" drew the first panel on the left.
